What are the most common ways pests can enter homes?
There are many ways critters and bugs can enter homes and residential areas. Common hot spots for pests such as cockroaches are crawlspaces and attics. Termites can infiltrate homes through mud tunnels connecting from outside foundation soil to structural wood in your home. They can find their way into structures using cracks in concrete slabs, foam insulation and voids behind brick and rock veneer- the end result is them snacking on the wood of your home. Larger pests like squirrels and rats are always on the lookout for a warm spot to nest and raise their young. They will use attic vents and gaps at your roofline to reach the insulation inside your wall voids for that purpose.
